Arthur Lesure Moore's Obituary
Mr. Arthur Lesure Moore, Sr., age 93, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2010 in Muskegon. He was born September 21, 1916 in Ross, N.D. to Benjamin F. and Sara B. (Green) Moore. Mr. Moore was a veteran of the United States Army having served in WWII with the 36th Division, 111th Engineer with the Texas Division. Arthur fought in 5 major battle campaigns in Europe. He was retired from Alstrom Construction, was a member of Samuel Lutheran Church and was a life-time member of the VFW Post #3195. Mr. Moore enjoyed hunting and reading. On March 14, 1959, Arthur married the former Nola J. Schroder and she preceded him in death in November, 1999. He is survived by 3 children, Arthur L. (Deb) Moore, Jr. of Muskegon, Lori L. Moore of Muskegon and Tracy A. (Denise) Moore of Grand Haven; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Saturday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service. INTERMENT will be in Norton Cemetery with military rites performed under the auspices of the VFW Post #3195 and Army National Guard. MEMORIALS in Mr. Moore’s name may be made to Heartland Hospice.
