Arthur S. Moore's Obituary
Mr. Arthur S. Moore, age 76, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011. He went to be with his Lord and Savior after a short, courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on August 27, 1934 in Deering, Missouri to Art and Opal (Deermon) Moore and resided in the Muskegon area since 1953. Art worked as a Regional Sales Manager for Globe Metallurgical for many years prior to his retirement in 1999. He previously worked as the foundry supervisor of Westran Corporation in Muskegon. Art loved boating and "Big Lake" fishing. He was a skilled craftsman and his memories can be found in homes of friends and family. Art spent countless hours traveling with his grandchildren and great grandchildren to many of their sporting events. Although he loved his fishing and woodworking, his family was his hobby. Most of all, Art will be remembered for being a proud grandfather by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. On January 31, 1953 he married the former Dorothy L. Lambert, and she survives him along with 3 children, Michael (Twila) Moore of Montague, David Moore of Waukesha, WI, and Kim (Doug) Zimmer of Norton Shores; 6 grandchildren Michael, Jason, Joshua, Jacob, Kyle, and Lindsay; 3 great grandchildren, Madison, Michael, and Carson; 1 special brother and friend, Edward (Maggie) Moore of Memphis, TN. Art was preceded in death by his parents. The FUNERAL SERVICES will be 11 AM Monday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 and 6-8 Sunday. Burial will take place in Norton Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
