Arvi E. Niemi's Obituary
Mr. Arvi E. Niemi, age 96, passed away Sunday morning, May 2, 2010 in Muskegon. He was born July 30, 1913 to Otto N. and Alina (Tikkala) Niemi in Grand Marais, MI, and moved to the Muskegon area in 1941. Mr. Niemi worked as a chemical engineer at Brunswick for 37 years, retiring in 1978, and was a member and usher at Central United Methodist Church. He also belonged to the local Finnish American Society. On May 5, 1945 he married Janet G. Dean, and she preceded him in death on March 8, 2006. SURVIVORS include his daughter, Janice M. Liverance of Washington, D.C.; in-laws, George (June) Dean of N. Muskegon, Barbara (Ken) Boerma of Spring Lake; many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Wednesday at Central United Methodist Church, with Rev. Dean Bailey officiating. Burial will take place at Restlawn Cemetery. VISITATION at
