Ashley Kay Sheffer's Obituary
Ashley K. Sheffer, age 31, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, June 8th, 2026, in Muskegon, MI. She was born to Mary Jo Hibbard, in Grand Rapids, MI. Ashley met the love of her life, Doug Sheffer, and married him on November 30th, 2018. They were married at her grandfather’s house in Conklin. Doug and Ashley spent 10 wonderful years together. She was a woman who had a big personality, loved to serve others. She never met a stranger, two legged or four. Her passion for all animals led her to become a Vet Assistant, her dream job. Ashley enjoyed traveling to the Wisconsin Dells and Niagara Falls, spending time with friends in Lansing, bar hopping, and watching chick flicks with Doug. She is survived by her husband: Doug Sheffer; mother: Mary Jo Hibbard (Rick Imkamp), sister: Allison Hibbard, nephew: Alex; in-laws: Brian and Phyllis Sheffer; cousins: Kendra Smith, Jared (Kim) Gillespie, Loren (Yu-Chi) Peterson, Marcus Peterson, Adam (Lisa) Gillespie, Joni (Len) Gillespie; close family friend: Dorie (Charlie) Creager; aunts: Cindy (Tim) Kitler, Judy (Jim) Blanchard, Sonya (Loren) Peterson, and many close friends.
