Ashley Marie Upson's Obituary
Ashley Marie Upson, age 28, passed away very unexpectedly Thursday, September 24, 2020, in Grand Rapids. She was born May 25, 1992 to Terry and Barbara (Mahoney) Upson in Muskegon, and was a lifelong resident.
The loss of Ashley is unmeasurable but so is the love she left behind. Ashley’s whole world were her children, just 3 days before she left us, she brought Maliek Walker into the world. Maliek joined big brother Mikko and big sister Eleise on Sept 21st. These children will carry their mother’s beautiful spirit with them throughout their life. Ashley was the most humble and selfless person that could brightened any room she walked into. She loved to be surrounded by family and friends and made everyone around her feel at home. Her laughs and smiles were always contagious. She graduated from Orchard View in 2010 and afterwards studied cosmetology because of her love of hair and beauty. Ashley later pursued her career in insurance and was employed at the Janis Shunta Insurance Agency and also attended Port City Church.
She is proceeded in death by her grandpa Gerald Mahoney, grandma Betty Upson and grandpa Fred Upson. Survivors include her father Terry Upson, her mother Barbara (Dan) VanZanten, her three children, Mikko, Eleise and Maliek Walker, boyfriend Les Walker, her two sisters Amanda (Paul) Routt and Terry Lynn Upson, stepbrother Wes (Michelle) VanZanten, stepsister Crystal VanZanten, her grandma Jean Mahoney, her two aunts Wendy Terebinski and Ruth (David) DeWitt, her two uncles Daune (Janet) Guss and Darrin Guss, her three cousins David DeWitt, Travis Terebinski, and Stephanie Guss, and nieces, nephews, and other close family Mazyn and Jerzey Routt, Landen Ledesma, Justice Walker, Jayda Walker, Peyton Walker, Trenity Walker, Keshawn Walker, Myron Walker, Myah Walker, Mycah Walker, and Kyron Walker.
A service to celebrate and remember Ashley’s life will be at Fellowship Reformed Church, 4200 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, 49442, Tuesday October 6th at 2:00pm. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ashley’s memory may be made to Amanda Routt. Arrangements by The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S.
