Athena Marie Marcinak's Obituary
Athena Marie Marcinak, age 15, passed away very suddenly on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. She was born May 31, 2007 in Muskegon, MI to Daniel Marcinak and Julianna Majeski. Athena had the most bright, beautiful and loving soul. Her love for her siblings was unmatched and unconditional. She held a great responsibility for her siblings and would do everything she could for them. She was always mothering each and every one. Her greatest fear in life was not being there for them throughout their lives. She feared her siblings would feel abandoned by her. She was outspoken and was never afraid to speak her piece no matter who she may offend. She lived through her pain and heartbreak in life everyday with the most grace anyone could. Athena would want the people she loved to smile and find joy and happiness and keep finding purpose. She loved music, tie dye, volkswagon vans and bonfires. Athena was a student at Duck Creek Alternative Ed and had completed the 10th grade. She was excited to have begun a job working in food and beverage at Michigan Adventure Amusement Park this summer. She attended Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Survivors include her beloved siblings, Izabella “Izzy”, Allen Jr. “Bubby”, Kayla, Kendall; her mother, Julianna Majeski; her father, Daniel Marcinak; her step-father, Allen Pulsipher; grandparents, David T. “Papa” Majeski, Juanita “Nonny” Matangi, Mary “Mitzi” Marcinak; great-grandparents, Alberta Parker, Larry Marcinak, Judith Schantz; Godparents, Matthew and Kristen Carefelle; her best friend, Caitlin; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Larry Marcinak; her great grandmother, Debbie Marcinak, great grandfathers, Isaac Schantz and David C. Majeski; and her Uncle Kevy. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church (1110 Dykstra Road) with Rev. Fr. Anthony M. Pelak presiding. Visitation will be held 2:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444.
