Mrs. Audrey D. Lyyski's Obituary
Mrs. Audrey Diana Lyyski, age 85, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Hackley Hospital. She was born July 27, 1926 in Wadena, MN, to Mathias and Edla (Korpi) Nikkari and lived in the Muskegon area since 1950. On January 19, 1952, she married Neil W. Lyyski in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on May 9, 1970. While raising her family, Audrey worked at a number of places in Muskegon, including Knollview Nursing Home as a cook and 11 years as the secretary for Muskegon Economic Growth Authority. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing card games and watching game shows on TV. She was active with the Ruddiman Terrace Neighbor Ladies and TOPS. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Michael (Elizabeth) Lyyski of Spring Lake, Ann (Joe) Constance of Marquette, Amy Lyyski of Highland Falls, NY; 7 grandchildren, Michelle (Jesse) Lajimodiere, Nicole (Dave) Anderson, Adam Constance, Alex Constance, Sarah Lyyski, Lucas Lyyski, Gerrit Lyyski; 2 great-grandsons, David Anderson and Spencer Lajimodiere; 2 brothers, John Nikkari of Ann Arbor and Matt (MaryLou) Nikkari of Munising; and former daughter-in-law, Sue Lyyski. She was also preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister, Joyce Josephson. A CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, May 10, 2012 at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565, with Pastor Ben Jansen officiating. VISITATION will be held 6-8 PM Wednesday and one hour prior to the service, 10-11 AM Thursday.
