Audrey Ruth Williams' Obituary
Audrey R. Williams, age 81, passed away Monday, April 5, 2021. She was born October 28, 1939 in Muskegon to George J. and Rose C. (Bowers) Gibes and lived all of her life in the area. On June 29, 1957, she married Clarence E. Williams in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on July 7, 1990. She was a proud graduate of Muskegon Catholic Central High School Class of 1957. Audrey was proud to have received her associates degree at Baker College later in her life and she worked as a dietician assistant and dialysis tech for Mercy Hospital for 15 years and retired in 1992. She also worked many years as a playground supervisor for Gustafson School. She was a longtime member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church where she sang with the choir, was a eucharistic minister and volunteered many years with the White Elephant Booth at the Annual Chicken Dinner and Festival. Audrey has a special group of lady friends dating back to childhood that gathered monthly for a game of Chicken Foot. Audrey enjoyed birthdays and holidays with her family – especially Christmas. Audrey touched the lives of many people she came in contact with. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include 3 children, George Williams, Gary (fiancee, Kelly Firestone) Williams, Stella (Tim) Iams; 6 grandchildren, Anthony (Amanda) Palmer, Kristin Williams, Kevin Williams, Emily (Joe) Baker, Matt Williams, Tiffany (Mark) Smith; 8 great grandchildren, Samuel, Mackenzie, Gavyn, Wyatt, Landen, Desiree, Kaleigh, Madelyn; and 3 sisters, Beverly Austin, Cathy Warner, and Mary Beard; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter-in-law, Kim Williams, her parents, 1 brother, George Gibes and 3 sisters, Barb Chaffee, Velma Gomez, Dorothy Dekker. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 4:00 PM Monday, April 12, 2021 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church (3252 E Apple Ave) with the Rev. Fr. Michael P. Olson presiding. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass, 3-4PM Monday at the church. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church Memorial Fund.
