Audrey C. Barberini's Obituary
Mrs. Audrey C. Barberini, age 94, passed away at her home on February 17, 2010. She was born on June 15, 1915 to Albin and Ellen (Otterson) Johnson in Muskegon. Mrs. Barberini was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and took part in Elizabeth Circle and helped with funeral lunches. Mrs. Barberini was co-owner of Barberini Beverage in Muskegon Heights for 42 years. She was a volunteer with Cherry Guild at Hackley Hospital gift shop for 15 years. She was also involved in the De Colores movement. On August 20, 1935, she married, Mario Barberini and he preceded her in death on November 1, 1981. Mrs. Barberini was a devoted mother of 7 children, Dan (Pat) Barberini of Norton Shores, Carol (Dave) Rowell of Muskegon, Joyce Wysozan of Muskegon, Susan McShannock of Muskegon, Tom (Cindy) Barberini of Alabama and James Barberini of Virginia; 19 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Eleanor Mae (Fritz) DeBoer and 1 sister-in-law, Mary Ann Johnson. She was preceded in death by daughter, Jeanne Harris in 1993, sister, Myril (Lyle) Dell, brothers, Albin (Charlotte) Johnson Jr., and Roy Johnson. FUNERAL SERVICE will be 1PM Saturday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church (1132 W. Southern Ave.) with Pastor Karen Biggerstaff officiating. VISITATION will be 5-8 PM Friday (this evening) at The Walburn Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 231-759-8565 and one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church or Harbor Hospice would be appreciated.
