Audrey M. Whipple's Obituary
After a lifetime of religious devotion, our beloved Audrey Marie Whipple was received into the Lord’s arms, Sunday, April 3, 2011, at her home of 61 years in Egelston Township, Michigan. Audrey was born December 1, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Richard and Laura May Bowden. She moved to Muskegon in 1946, where she met and married the love of her life, Kenneth R Whipple. Together they started Ken's Auto Parts, which they operated together for 30 years until retirement. Audrey was a Charter Member and also past president of the VFW Post 7729 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed going to bingo and also making sun catchers, but her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family and friends. Audrey is survived by her children, Lee (Heidi) Whipple of Muskegon, Richard (Cathy) Whipple of Twin Lake, Randy Whipple of Muskegon, Donna (Robert) Griffis of Nunica, Barbara (Lloyd) Stordahl-Jones of Muskegon; and one sister, Bessie Carlson of Muskegon. She also lovingly leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom all called her “GiGi”. Audrey was preceded in death by both of her parents; her beloved Kenneth; and sons, Daniel and Earl. VISITATION for Audrey will be 6-8 PM Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be 11AM Thursday, April 7, 2011, also at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Ladies Auxiliary Post 7729.
