August Olson's Obituary
Mr. August Olson, age 85, passed away Saturday morning, February 14, 2009, at a local care facility. August was born November 4, 1923 in Muskegon. He served his Country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Following the war, August attended the University of Michigan. He married the former Johanna Kamenske on September 20, 1952 in Grand Haven, MI, and she preceded him in death on February 18, 2006. August worked as a chemist for S. D. Warren for close to 30 years, before retirement. Prior to that, he had worked for the Brunswick Corporation. August had enjoyed league bowling for many, many years. He and Johanna had also traveled all over the world; including Africa, Australia, Europe , and Mexico. He was a kind and gentle husband, father and grandfather. August is survived by his daughter Regina (Robert) Vetter of Muskegon; 2 grandchildren, Robert Vetter and James Vetter; a great grandson, Robert Jacob Vetter; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Betty Nile. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no services.
