Augustin S. Cabrera Sr's Obituary
Mr. Augustin “Augie” S. Cabrera Sr passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, September 7, 2020. He was born on October 13, 1963 in Muskegon. A lifelong resident of the area, he worked at Rosita’s Taco as a cook and enjoyed his time there. He also enjoyed golfing with his sons, grandson, and nephews. Augie was a devoted Detroit Lions fan, just like his son, Bart. He was loved by all and always made sure to help others in need in any way he could. He doted on his grandchildren and was the best Papa any kid could have. Augie will be dearly missed by his children, Alesha (Julio) Cabrera, Andrea (Kenneth “Bff” Council Jr) Cabrera-Council, Mario Cabrera, Gabriel (Bri) Dewey and Patrick Dewey; special nephew/son, Miguel “Boots” Cabrera; six grandchildren, Vela, Cruzito, Sen, Nana, Monch and Teo; mother, Isabella “Chavela” Santos; father, Chago Cabrera; mother of four of his children, Debby Guzman; siblings, Rick (Lupe) Cabrera and Hope (Jimmy Wilson) Cabrera; many nieces and nephews; and best friend, Joan Garvey. He was preceded in death by his son, Augustin “Bart” Cabrera Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11AM, Friday, September 11 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Fr. Charles Hall presiding. Visitation with the family will be held 5-7PM, Thursday, September 10 at church with the Rosary being prayed at 7PM.
