Avis Florence Holcomb's Obituary
Mrs. Avis Florence Holcomb, age 93, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025 in Muskegon, Michigan. Avis was born in Washburn, Maine on December 13, 1931 to Henry and Marguerite (McCarthy) Myshrall. On November 5, 1955, Avis married Daniel Holcomb and they started their family. She was a devoted mother to their four boys. Avis cherished her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Daniel; three sons, Brenton (Alice) Holcomb of Marquette, Michigan, Robert (Mary Ann) Holcomb of Bitely, Michigan, and Richard (Patti) Holcomb of Plattsburgh, New York; seven grandchildren, Samuel (Victoria) Holcomb, Daniel Holcomb, Joseph (Brittany) Holcomb, Erin (Guillaume) Eek, Thomas (Abby) Holcomb, Rachel Sitts, and Colleen Holcomb; and five great-grandchildren, Sidney, Norman, Anna, Henry, Nathan, and great-grandchild #6 due in February. She was preceded in death by one son, Henry Holcomb; her parents; four sisters and seven brothers. A FUNERAL SERVICE for Avis will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Community United Methodist Church, 1614 Ruddiman Dr., North Muskegon, MI 49445. VISITATION will be one hour prior to her service. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
