Barbara Ann Avery's Obituary
Barbara Ann Avery, age 87, of Grand Haven passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Sanctuary at the Shore. She was born July 22, 1929 in Wright Township to Alvin and Gertrude (Vlietstra) Waldron.
Barbara was a career woman, where she enjoyed her time working as an inspector for Michigan Plastics Products and later Grand Haven Plastics. She retired to Florida where she enjoyed swimming and social events. Barbara was a member of the Red Hat Society for many years. She was active in whatever activity, craft or social event that was going on in the community and will be missed by all.
She is survived by three children: Paulette (Paul) Unger, Kenneth Schmitt, and Dirk (Judy) Schmitt; five grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four sisters: Inez Ketner, Rosetta Neitring, Leora Foutz and Emma VanOordt; brother, Jay Waldron.
A memorial service will be held 12:00 PM (Noon) Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at The VanZantwick Chapel (620 Washington Ave) with Chaplain Barbara Schreur officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in memory of Barbara may be given to the American Heart Association or the Activities Fund – Sanctuary at the Shores.
