Mrs. Barbara Jo Baird's Obituary
Mrs. Barbara J. Baird, 76, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019, in Muskegon. She was born April 17, 1942 in Quincy, IL, to Arthur E. and Margaret (Hedrick) Grimmer, and lived most of her life in the Muskegon area. She helped as a volunteer at Hackley Hospital, and enjoyed playing bingo and cards with her Hickory Village community. On June 21, 1958 Barbara married Alvin J. Baird, Sr, and he preceded her in death on April 6, 1994. Survivors include 3 children: Alvin (Karen) Baird, Jr., Barbara (George) Hathaway, Shawn (Dawn) Baird; 6 grandchildren: Sara (Victor) Rivera, Wayne (Bridget) King, Kyle Hathaway, Matthew (Alicia) Baird, Sydney Baird, Sierra Baird; 4 great-grandchildren: Kayden, Macario, Christian and Jameson; 2 brothers: Arthur (Carol) Grimmer and Walter (Nancy) Grimmer. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters: Constance Cuti, Sue Ellen Grimmer and Deborah Grimmer. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 18, at 12:00 noon at the Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., (231) 726-5210. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service.
