Barbara "Barb" Bellamy's Obituary
Barbara “Barb” Bellamy, age 83, of Ferrysburg passed away Friday, July 19, 2024, at Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. She was born November 11, 1940, in Sparta, MI to Melvin and Rose A. (Posobiec) Van Oeffelen. She married Len L. Bellamy on October 17, 1959, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Conklin, MI. He preceded her in death on January 14, 2006.
Barbara was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake. She was a beach grandma who loved the Lake Michigan sunsets. Barbara loved and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and doted on all of them. She was a wonderful baker and cook.
Barbara is lovingly remembered by two daughters, Jacquelynn Naylor and Jillynne (Jason) Bellamy-Siewertsen; her son, David (Joan) Bellamy; thirteen grandchildren: Jenny, Jeanna, Jacob, Bobby, Katie, Martha, Teresa, Maria, Sarah, Ashlynne, Brett, Blake and Brooklynne; eight great grandchildren; her sisters, Ruth Ann Harris, Marcia Lundquist and Lucy Rasch; her brothers, Fred (Sue) Van Oeffelen, Paul (Paulette) Van Oeffelen, Mike Van Oeffelen; sisters-in-law, Bea Bellamy, Carol Brownyard, and Donna Van Oeffelen. She was preceded in death by a son, Todd Bellamy in 2016, her sister, Mary Van Oeffelen, three brothers, James Van Oeffelen, Phil Van Oeffelen and Steve Van Oeffelen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Friends may meet the family on Sunday, July 28, from 2 – 6 p.m. at The Spring Lake Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 213 E. Savidge St., Spring Lake, MI 494456, and also an hour prior to the Mass at church on Monday. A time of sharing will take place at 4:30 p.m. with the Rosary at 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to Corewell Health Hospice & Palliative Care are appreciated. Interment will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Conklin, MI. Share memories with the family at their online guest book at www.sytsemafh.com.
