Barbara Jo Blattner's Obituary
Barbara Jo Blattner, age 72, passed away Friday, April 10th in Muskegon due to a short battle with lung cancer. She was born in Muskegon on December 7, 1947 to the late Robert and Patricia Silvis. Barbara was employed as a production planner in the manufacturing industry prior to her retirement. Our mother was a planner. She made lists about everything, including the last few weeks of her life. She loved to read and preferred warm weather. She also enjoyed playing bingo and a few scratch-off tickets here and there. She was a perfectionist and was not happy until things were just so. Her work ethic was impeccable, and she was one of the most independent and strongest women you could have ever known. Most of all, she loved her children, and we are grateful that God gave us to her. Bryan and I will forever know what sacrifices you made for us, the advice you gave so freely, how proud you have always been of us, and the genuine love that often went unsaid, but we could feel it. Barb is survived by her children, Bryan Senecal and Susan (Paul) Anderson all of Muskegon. She has four grandchildren, Lauren Frees, Shawn Senecal, Erik Fetters, and Ryan Senecal whom she loved very much. Barb has one sister, Sheila Werly; who preceded her in death, and three brothers, Brad (Peggy) Silvis, Don (Kit) Silvis, and John (Cathy) Silvis. She also has five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. According to Barbara’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
