Barbara J. Bower (Novak)'s Obituary
Barbara J. “Barb” Bower (Novak), age 80, passed away Monday evening, August 16, 2021. She was born on February 13, 1941 to Frank and Josephine (Zunich) Novak in Muskegon, MI and has been a life-long resident. Barb was a dedicated employee of Sealed Power Corp for many years where she worked in the office as a key punch operator. After her retirement, she continued working at Lowes in the gardening department and as a greeter, which she loved! Barb was a true people person and loved spending her time with friends and family. She was an outgoing woman who took pleasure in spontaneous road trips, motorcycles and snowmobiling. She was also blessed with a green thumb and took pride tending to her garden and flowers. Barb had a heart of gold and loved animals and helping others. She also enjoyed cheering on her Detroit Tigers and Lions and favorite NASCAR driver, Jimmy Johnson. Her tender-loving and bubbly personality will truly be missed by all who knew her. A Celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 30, 2021 at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442. A visitation with the family will be held at 10:00 AM. She is survived by her sister, Marcie Underhill; 2 nieces, Cathy (Les) Bonter and Terri Beran; nephew, Rick (Karen) Underhill; and dear friends at Sanctuary at the Oaks. She is preceded by her parents, and 2 brothers, Francis “Frank” Novak and Bernard “Bernie” Novak. Memorial Contributions in Barbara’s honor can be made directly to Pound Buddies or Harbor Hospice.
