Barbara Crouse's Obituary
Barbara Crouse, age 96, of Spring Lake passed away Saturday, December 21, 2024. She was born April 22, 1928, in Lansing to Carl and Bertha (McBride) Vincent.
Barbara worked for over 27 years as a secretary for our local Lutheran Churches. She served on the board for the Ottawa County March of Dimes. Barbara was a cub scout leader when her sons were young; she also served as a Sunday School Teacher. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. In the 1940’s, she played her saxophone in an all girls dance band called “The Gils of Jive” that traveled the country. She greatly loved all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by three children: Carolyn (Edward) Dorsey, Michael Crouse, Daniel (Janet) Crouse; daughter-in-law, Laura Crouse; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two children: Deborah Priest, and Patrick Crouse; four sisters and two brothers, and former husband, Glenn Crouse.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, December 30, 2024, at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Nunica with Rev. Micah Brooks officiating. Visitation will be held 2-4 PM Sunday, December 29, 2024, at The Spring Lake Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 213 E. Savidge St, Spring Lake, MI 49456 and one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will take place in Lakeshore Cemetery.
