Barbara J. "Barb" Doenges' Obituary
Barbara J. “Barb” Doenges, age 88, met her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 21, 2022. She was born on April 1, 1934, to Dale and Edna (Drake) Nutt in Albion, MI. On January 26, 1957, she married the love of her life, Raymond Doenges in Albion, MI. Together they cherished 65 years full of love, laughter and many adventures. She dedicated 25 years to Fruitport Community Schools where she worked as a paraprofessional before retiring in 1998. She was a faithful servant and a longtime member of Fruitport Congregational Church. She was active in women’s fellowship and participated on various committee boards. She enjoyed spending her time reading and attending Tuesday morning coffee groups. Above all things, she truly cherished the time spent with her family. Her tender-loving spirit and radiant smile will truly be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband, Ray Doenges; 3 children, David (Hong) Doenges of Muskegon, Julie (Dan) Hearn of Muskegon and Amy (Ryan) Anderson of Charlevoix; 4 grandchildren, Samantha Hearn, Zachary Hearn, Wil Hearn and Brendan Anderson; sister, Mary Maldonado; 2 half-sisters, Lena (Steve) Sliver and Lisa (Lad) Love; half-brother, Ernest (Pam) Nutt; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale (Edna) Nutt; and sister, Dorothy (Chuck) Johnson. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, September 26, 2022, at Fruitport Congregational Church, 9 S. 8th Ave, Fruitport, MI 49415. A visitation with the family will be held one hour prior at church. Arrangements entrusted to The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
