Mrs. Barbara Ann Friday's Obituary
Mrs. Barbara Ann Friday, age 69, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 after a courageous 17-year battle with cancer. She was born in Muskegon on June 11, 1943 to George and Clara (VanderWall) Gardner and was a life resident of the area. Barb was an active member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She was a former owner of Wayne’s Deli, she had worked at Muskegon St. Joseph’s Federal Credit Union, and she was a very accomplished cake decorator. Barb loved being at home with her family, gardening, and bird watching. She was an exceptionally loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and she cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. On July 13, 1963, Barb married Ron Friday in Muskegon and he survives her along with 3 children, Dan (Alicia) Friday of Dorr, MI, Amy (Dirk) Boomstra of Hudsonville, MI, and Pam (Jason) Sundell of Norton Shores; 5 grandchildren, Deven, Lexi, and Nate Friday, and Bryce and Adam Boomstra; and 3 sisters, Greta Noordhoek, Connie (Warren) Robinson, and Deb (Steve) Spangler. A MEMORIAL MASS will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Michael P. Olson, Rev. Fr. Matthew J. Barnum and Rev. Fr. Antony Britto concelebrating.. VISITATION will be from 5-8 PM Tuesday at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100, with the Rosary prayed at 5 PM. There will also be VISITATION from 10-11AM Wednesday at the Church. Burial will be in Norton Cemetery. MEMORIALS to Johnson Family Cancer Center, or Our Lady of Grace or Hospice of Michigan would be appreciated.
