Mrs. Barbara Ann Hempel's Obituary
Mrs. Barbara Ann Hempel, age 77, passed away on March 6, 2015. Barbara was born on February 9, 1938 to George and Ona Panka. In 1964 she married Carl Hempel. She worked for various credit unions for many years until her retirement in 2008. Barbara was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Muskegon and the Sheldon Park Neighborhood Association. She was a friendly, compassionate, kindhearted, woman who will be deeply missed. Barbara is SURVIVED by her daughter, Cindy (Kurt) Mackey; and brother, Richard (Verna) Panka. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl; and her parents. A MEMORIAL MASS will be held at 12PM on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 239 West Clay Avenue. VISITATION will be held on Wednesday at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave 231-726-5210 from 5-7PM with a Rosary taking place at 5pm. In Lieu of flowers and in observance of Lent please consider a MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTION to American Heart Association of West Michigan or St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
