Barbara Lynn Heykoop's Obituary
Barbara L. Heykoop, age 71, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at her home. She was born July 29, 1950 in Muskegon to Peter and Margery (Pleasure) Heykoop. Barb earned her Bachelor of Education Degree from Northwestern University and her teaching career spanned 35 years as fifth grade teacher for Coopersville Public Schools where she retired in 1997. She was very proud to be a teacher and loved all of her students. Survivors include her son, Dan (Kristina McEachen) Heykoop; 2 grandchildren, Daniel Heykoop Jr, Iliana Heykoop; 2 brothers Joseph (Robin) Heykoop and Peter (Chris) Heykoop. Barb was preceded in death by her grandson, Bentley Heykoop; her parents; 1 brother, Jim Heykoop; and 2 sisters, Brenda Heykoop and Sandy Bartholomew. A Celebration of Life for Barb will be held 5-8 PM Friday, July 8, 2022 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444.
