Barbara Jean Hvizdos' Obituary
Mrs. Barbara Jean Hvizdos, age 94, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2020. She was born in Muskegon on October 5, 1925 to Walter and Edith (Falbe) Swarthout. Barbara had been employed by Sealed Power – HyLift for 30 years prior to her retirement in 1986. She was a long-time member of the Vikings Linne Lodge #57 and attended Dr. Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church. Barbara enjoyed golfing, bowling, snowmobiling, and traveling around the United States with her husband in their motorhome. She also enjoyed spending winters at their home in Zephyrhills, Florida. On June 19, 1971, Barbara married Edward J. Hvizdos in Muskegon and he survives her along with three children, Walter (Vergie) Humy, Leandra Boggan, and Steven (Deborah) Humy; three stepchildren, Edward L. (Kimberly) Hvizdos, Sandra (Dan) Thiele, and Brian (Ellen) Hvizdos; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Stuart Humy; her parents; and one sister, Lorraine Williams. According to Barbara’s wishes, PRIVATE SERVICES will be held. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. MEMORIALS in her memory may be directed to the American Lung Association.
