Barbara Anne Jager's Obituary
Barbara Anne Jager, age 85, of Spring Lake passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023, at American House in Spring Lake. She was born May 15, 1938, in Nunica, MI to Gustave and Evelyn (Barbrick) Metzler, and married Roger Clark Jager on September 20, 1958, in Grand Haven, MI.
Barbara worked numerous jobs during her lifetime, including co-driving truck across country with her husband, Roger. But most important, she was a homemaker making sure the household ran smoothly, first for her daughters, and later in life for her granddaughter and grandson. She enjoyed making bountiful meals when family came to visit and was known for her famous Christmas cookies. Barbara was a member of Spring Lake Presbyterian Church.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Roger Jager; daughter, Karen (Mark) Blakeman; nine grandchildren: Deborah Barney, Daniel (Rose) Barney, Elizabeth Barney, Jonathan Barney, Hannah Barney, Mary Barney, Sarah Barney, R.J. Wolcott and fiancée, Holly Gallati, and Emily Wolcott and husband, Raymond DeSimone; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Kristine Wolcott in 1997, and her sister, Sandra Gomez in 2005.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Spring Lake Presbyterian Church with Rev. Lary Jackson officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at church. Memorials to Spring Lake Presbyterian Church or the charity of your choice are appreciated.
