Barbara J. LaPres' Obituary
Mrs. Barbara J. LaPres, age 74, passed away early Sunday, April 19, 2020. She was born on September 10, 1945 to Howard and Sarah (Knight) Tice in Muskegon. On January 16, 1965, Barb married John LaPres and he survives her. Barb was an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church for many years. She recently was head of the prayer line, volunteered her time at the food pantry, helped collect for March of Dimes, served at Jitney dinners and participated in the parish festival during the summers, all while raising 7 boys at home. Barb enjoyed dancing, bike rides and loved to go on road trips across the United States with John. She was a caring, loving, and selfless mother and grandmother. Barb will be missed by her husband of 55 years, John; seven boys, Scott LaPres, Greg LaPres, Jeff LaPres, Steve LaPres, Mike LaPres, Jason (Leslie) LaPres and Andy (Kasey) LaPres; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Roda and Beverly. She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Stanley, Sonny and Sandy. A Memorial Service will be held for both Barb and her son, Scott, at 11AM, Tuesday, August 18 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church (3252 Apple Ave., 49442) with a luncheon following at the church pavilion.
