Barbara J. "Barb" Meyers' Obituary
Barbara J. “Barb” Meyers, age 89, met her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 19, 2021. She was born on November 29, 1932 to Walfred and Margurette (DeWitt) Larson in Muskegon, MI. She graduated from Muskegon High School class of 1950. Barb was a dedicated employee of Comerica Bank, where she worked as an administrative assistant for 30 years before retiring in 1992. On May 18, 1951, she married the love of her life, William “Bud” Meyers in Muskegon, MI. Together they cherished 43 years of marriage full of love and laughter. William preceded her in death on December 22, 1994. Barbara was a faithful servant of Our Lord and a longtime member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. She was an active member and was part of the Catholic Women’s Council and Senior outreach program. Barb was an avid traveler, she went to Georgia, Arizona, Chicago and so many others. Some of her favorites were Oregon, where she visited family and also Sweden! In her later years, she found a passion for gardening and loved tending to her flowers. In her spare-time, you could usually find her with a good book in hand, working on a puzzle or listening to music. Barb was a caring, loving and patient woman who will truly be missed. She will always be remembered for her loving spirit that was balanced with the perfect amount of spunk. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Diane Doenges and Pamela Beckman; 6 grandchildren, Kevin, Barbara, Daniel (Angie), Curtis, Beth and Brett; 7 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Terry Meyers; 2 brothers; 2 sisters; sons-in-law, Tom Doegnes and James Beckman; and beloved dalmatian, Lady. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 3:00 PM at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442. A Visitation with the family will be held from 2-3:00PM, with a rosary starting at 1:30 PM. Barb will be laid to rest with her husband, Bud at Sunrise Memorial Gardens Cemetery in the spring.
