Barbara Elaine Miles' Obituary
Mrs. Barbara Elaine Miles, age 78, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023 in Muskegon. She was born in Muskegon on July 14, 1944 to Omer and Margaret (Jespersen) Bourdo. Barbara loved her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse and was employed by Mercy Hospital and Dr. Medema. She also served as the Religious Education Coordinator for St. Jean’s Catholic Church for 18 years prior to her retirement in 2007. Barbara was a long-time member of St. Jean’s Catholic Church and most recently a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church where she prayed every Wednesday in the Adoration Chapel. She enjoyed reading, bowling, spending time with her family, and she cherished her grandchildren. On December 11, 1971 Barbara married Clayton C. Miles in Muskegon and he survives her along with four daughters, Dawn Mosher, Deborah (John) Belmonte, Amy (Calvin) Morgan, and Mary (Chance) Slack; 10 grandchildren, Peter, Joseph, Trevor, Kyle, and Ally Mosher, Richard and William Belmonte, and Madigan, Bo, and Chloe Slack; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, William (Gail) Bourdo and Richard (Cindy) Bourdo; sister, Mary (Jerry) Fethke; and many nieces and nephews. VISITATION will be from 5-7 PM Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church (451 S. Getty St., Muskegon, MI 49442) with Fr. James Wyse presiding.
