Barbara Joan Moon's Obituary
Mrs. Barbara Joan Moon, age 80, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2019. She was born in Muskegon on October 9, 1939 to Gordon and Jeanette (Phillips) Fortin. Barb had been employed as a Nurses Aid with Home Visits and later as an Inspector at Misco prior to her retirement in 1985. She enjoyed reading, walking, and was a member of St. Mary of the Woods. Barbara married John Moon in August of 1956 and he preceded her in death on October 30, 1996. She is survived by her children, Debra (Gregg) Rollenhagen, John (Lisa) Moon, Teresa (Allen) Collinge, and Mark Moon; daughter-in-law, Marjo Moon; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gordon (Lanora) Fortin and Larry (Mary) Fortin; and five sisters, Donna Arman, Karen Goff, Cathy (Chuck) Edsall, Rhonda (Mike) Chester, and Vicky Schroeder. In addition to her husband, Barb was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Moon, and grandson, Shaun Moon. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Monday, October 14, 2019 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. VISITATION will be one hour prior to her service. Burial will be in Twin Lake Cemetery. MEMORIALS in memory of Barb may be directed to the Harbor Hospice Foundation.
