Barbara O. Rabach's Obituary
Mrs. Barbara Olive Rabach, age 88, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence surrounded by her family. She was born on March 14, 1927 in Superior, WI to Clifford and Marie (Silbur) Bartley. She married the love of her life, Otis “Bud” Rabach in Superior, WI on February 11, 1950 and he preceded her in death on March 28, 1995. The family lived in Sturgeon Bay, WI before moving to Muskegon for work. Barb was known to many in the Muskegon area as the “Perch Princess” at the Masonic Temple’s weekly fish fry. She was an active member of the Genesis Chapter No 88, Order of the Eastern Star, Bethesda Shrine No 21, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, and the Daughters of Nile. She also volunteered for many causes in the area. Barb loved going out to eat with her Red Hat lady friends. She was well liked by everyone that came in contact with her because of her fun and spunky attitude. Two of her indulgent passions were shopping and anything chocolate. Most of all Barb treasured time spent with her family and close friends. SURVIVORS include her son, Michael (Loretta) Rabach of Fruitport, her son David (Connie) Rabach of Hesperia, her son Robert (Kelly) Rabach of Fruitport, her daughter Debra Hill of Fruitport; 9 grandchildren, Rebecca (Kevin) Terpstra, Carly (Casey) Malotke and Jeffrey Rabach, Stephanie Hill, Nicholas, Rachel and Jenna Rabach, and Zachary and Cody Rabach; 3 great-grandchildren, Austin, Kaden and Gregory; and special friends, Diana Coleman, Harriett Chalker, Kathy Jacobson and Sandy Benkert. Barb was also preceded in death by her grandson, Gregory Rabach; 2 brothers, Robert and James Bartley; and 3 sisters, Beverly Reinkall, Harriet Dowd, and Jane Rabach. The CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be 1PM Wednesday at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd (231) 759-8565. VISITATION with the family will be 4-8 PM Tuesday, and 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
