Barbara A. Meister's Obituary
Mrs. Barbara A. Meister, age 75, passed away November 14, 2007. She was born April 8, 1932 in Muskegon Heights to John and Ermine (Dowlyn) Larabee, and had resided in the area her entire life. Mrs. Meister had been the owner of Meister’s Yard and Garden for 25 years with her husband Red. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, and enjoyed scrap booking, genealogy, and gardening. The utmost importance in her life was her loving husband of 55 years, her children, and spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren. On April 26, 1952 she married Werner “Red” Meister in Spring Lake, and he survives her along with 3 children, Debra (Mark) Jados, Gary (Cindy) Meister, and William (Cheri) Meister all of Muskegon; 10 grandchildren, Becky, Ryan, Brian, Mandy, Lisa, Julie, Bob, Gary, “Buddy” Bill, and Katelynn; 3 great grandchildren, Caleb O’Neal, Jacob Lynn, Jacob Jackson; and 1 sister, Dorothy (Bob) Thoma of Ferrysburg. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents. SERVICES will be 1 PM Monday at St. Mark Lutheran Church with Rev. Mark E. Zimmerman officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Sunday at The Lee Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 and 1 hour prior the service at church. Burial will take place in Fruitport Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Mark Journey of Faith Renovation Fund or Harbor Hospice will be appreciated.
