Barbara B. Monroe's Obituary
Grand Haven resident Barbara B. Monroe passed away peacefully June 30th with family members at her side after a summer long bout with emphysema. At Barbara’s request, private memorial service for family and close friends will be held at a later date. Barbara was born in Cincinnati Ohio on December 10, 1926 into the family of Clifford and Jeannette Boyce. Barbara married Charles M. Brower on September 14, 1946. They had four sons, John, Steven, Thomas and Charles (Todd). In addition to household and family duties, Barbara was active in the community with memberships in the Park Congregational and later East Congregational Church choirs, The Klise Guild and Women’s Fellowship at East Congregational Church and the Community Health Services. Mrs. Monroe was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles M. Brower, Jack Monroe and her son, Steven K. Brower. She is survived by her son John M. Brower and his partner Chris Wilhelm of Anchorage Alaska, sons Thomas S. Brower, his wife Cathy and their children, Christina and Michael; Charles (Todd) Brower, his wife Judy and their children, Ashley and Steven, all from Grand Haven, Michigan and Gregory and Jennifer Walker, the children of son Steven K. Brower from Holland, Michigan, a great grand son. And several step children and granndchildren.
