Barbara E. Acey's Obituary
Mrs. Barbara E. Acey, age 95, of Spring Lake passed away July 18, 2011 at the Heartwood Lodge Hospice Residence. She was born January 8, 1916 in Bootle, England to James and Florence (Stewart) Howitt and has lived in the United States since 1935.
On May 18, 1935 she married Eugene Acey in Angola, Indiana and he preceded her in death on October 7, 1995. She is survived by 3 children: Chris (Tony) Oosting of Spring Lake, Chip (Noni) Acey of Davisburg, MI, Bob Acey of Burbank, CA; 5 grandchildren: Jennifer (Bryan) Boodt, Cori (Jeremy) Wale, Lexie (Karl Sineath) Oosting, Claire Acey and Adam (Alicia) Acey; 6 great-grandchildren: Isabella, Brody, Kemry, Jacob, Justin and Amanda; and a brother, Phillip Howitt. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marjorie Elies, and her brothers, James, Kenneth and William Howitt.
Services for Barbara will be 12:00 PM Thursday, July 21, 2011 at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Spring Lake. Visitation will be held 10:30 AM to 12:00 (Noon) prior to the service. Interment will take place in Cadillac Memorial Gardens West in Westland, MI. Memorial contributions in memory of Barbara may be given to a charity of choice.
