Barbara L. (Kurtz) Noordhof's Obituary
Mrs. Barbara L. (Kurtz) Noordhof, age 81 passed away at her residence the Sanctuary at the Shore on Saturday, August 1, 2009. Barbara was born in Grand Rapids on May 20, 1928, moving to Muskegon as a young girl. Following graduation from Muskegon H.S. in 1946, she married Malcolm George Kurtz. Together they owned and operated Malfra Music until Malcolm’s passing in 1973. In 1975, she married Rev. Ira Noordhof and lived in Howard City and Mendon, MI, until returning to the Muskegon area. Rev. Noordhof preceded her in death in 1993. Barb was a charter member of Wolf Lake United Methodist Church and in earlier years taught Sunday School. She was also a Matron of the Order of Eastern Star. She is survived by: son, Robert (Sharon) Kurtz of Spring Lake; daughter, Peggy (Andrew) Donaghy of Suttons Bay; 5 step-children, Gary (Lillian) Noordhof, Sharon (Jere) Chandler, Pamela (Jack) Gunsoley, Jay (Dana) Noordhof and Marsha (Mike) Rogers; 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at:
