Beatrice M. "Bea" LaBelle's Obituary
Mrs. Beatrice M. “Bea” LaBelle, 98, passed away early Wednesday morning, September 28, 2016, in Muskegon. She was born July 22, 1918 to George and Hazel (Cavanaugh) Dann in Otsego, and lived in Lake Odessa before moving to Muskegon over 70 years ago. On May 30, 1938 she married Russell P. LaBelle, and he preceded her in death in August of 2002. Bea was a charter member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, member of Woman’s Guild and Senior’s Group. She worked at JCPenney until retirement. She was loved by all who knew her, always very giving and thought of everyone before herself. Even though she was in a nursing home the last two years, she kept herself busy reading, doing word games and backgammon along with bingo. Many thanks to all the staff at Roosevelt Park Nursing Center for the love and care she received. Survivors include 3 children, Russell J. “Jerry” LaBelle of Wilmington, NC, Margaret “Marge” (Tony) Winkler of Muskegon, Janice Sanborn of Vermilion, OH; a daughter-in-law, Alice LaBelle; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Georgia Dann of Kalamazoo; 1 brother-in-law, Ralph “Eugene” (Fran) LaBelle; and 1 sister-in-law, Marcelyn LaBelle Knight. She was also preceded in death by a son, Tom LaBelle; 1 grandchild, Michael Winkler; 1 great-grandchild, Sabrina Kranenborg; a brother, Elton Patrick Dann; and a sister, Irene Brownell. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Monday, October 3, 2016, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
