Beatrice "Ruth" Mixter's Obituary
Beatrice “Ruth” Mixter, age 97, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2018. She was born on September 9, 1920 to Fred and Beatrice (Miller) Traster in Kankakee Co., IL. Ruth was a charter member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and enjoyed sewing, quilting and needlepoint. On September 21, 1939, she married Harry Mixter and he preceded her in death on April 30, 2000. SURVIVORS include 5 children, Richard (Judith) Mixter, Ronald (Linda) Mixter, Carolyn (Winston) Finlayson, Robert (Pat) Mixter and Paul (Terri) Mixter; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, David (Gay) Traster and sister-in-law, Delore Traster. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Earl Traster and Bob Traster and sister, Betty Traster. FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 1:00 PM Friday, January 26, 2018 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church (215 E Apple Ave.) with Deacon Alexander Koppel officiating. VISITATION with the family will be held one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS can be directed to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
