Beatrice Mary Plichta's Obituary
Mrs. Beatrice M. Plichta, age 94, passed away Friday, March 1, 2013 at Sanctuary at the Shore in Grand Haven. She was born March 30, 1918 in Muskegon to Albert and Matilda (Nicholas) Schelhas. She married Anton “Tony” Plichta in Muskegon on June 12, 1947. He preceded her in death on November 28, 1991. SURVIVORS include: 2 daughters, Diane (Bob) Taylor of Norton Shores and Nita Wells of Fruitport; 1 son, Nick (Janet) Plichta of Traverse City, MI; grandchildren, Laurie, Donna & Robert Plichta, Kathy (Steve) Hazekamp, Cheri Rowe, John (Diana) Taylor, Kevin (Julie Keller) Kotlewski and Jennifer (George) Brewster; 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; 2 sisters, Evelyn Raynor of Muskegon and Betty Donnelly of LasVegas, NV; also many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Root and Lorraine Blaszak and her brother Robert Schelhas. Beatrice enjoyed gardening and was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and later at St. Mary the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Muskegon where the MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will take place on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., Fr. Matthew Barnum as celebrant. VISITATION will be Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100. She will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery. MEMORIAL contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
