Beatrice "Bea" Swanson's Obituary
Mrs. Beatrice “Bea” Swanson, age 98, passed away Friday, August 12, 2016 at her home in Muskegon. She was born on May 6, 1918 to Paul and Henrietta (Mooney) Buris and was a lifelong resident of the Muskegon area. Beatrice married Harold Swanson on June 1, 1946 in Muskegon. They were happily married for over 52 years until his passing in 1998. Bea enjoyed dancing, music, knitting and crocheting, but her greatest joy was her family.
SURVIVORS include her sons, Dennis (Debi) Swanson and their children, Lindsay (Eric) Mikesell and daughter, Alison; Erick (Karen Myers) Swanson and daughter, Ellarie; and Cameron (Genevieve Johnson) Swanson; Douglas (Pam) Swanson and their children, Krista (Greg) Dunbar and daughters, Sydney, Emersyn and Macey; Keith (Chelsea Hansen) Swanson and their daughter, Margot; sister, Dolores (Wayne) Buris Brondyke; her dear friend, Jeanne Bytwerk; and her beloved dog, Molly. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Beatrice was preceded in death by her brother, George Buris; and her three sisters, Violet Stone, Virginia Farkas and Patricia Buris.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 10 AM Saturday, September 3, 2016 at First Wesleyan Church, 1040 East Forest Avenue with Pastor Michael Schultz officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to First Wesleyan Church. Arrangements are being handled by The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave. (231) 726-5210.
