Mrs. Beatrice "Bea" Tobey's Obituary
Mrs. Beatrice “Bea” Irene Tobey, age 80, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Tobey was born August 3, 1933 to Warley and Ola (Black) Jacobs in Muskegon. On October 11, 1969 she married Carl D. Tobey. Bea enjoyed baking, knitting, gardening and especially, spending time with her grandchildren. Later on in life, she worked at Cloverville Laundry and Sanctuary at McAuley. Along with Carl, her husband of 44 years, she is SURVIVED by her children, Cheryl Kramer and Dennis (Jacqie) Smith all of Muskegon, Jim (Sue) Smith of Hudsonville, Kirk Smith and Carla (Clyde) Burggren all of Muskegon; 19 grandchildren, plus many more who she considers grandchildren in her heart; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Bea was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Charles Robert Smith; son, Charles Robert Smith Jr.; granddaughter, Tracey Marie Smith; brothers, Eldon, Louis, Marvin and her twin brother, Bernard Jacobs; sisters, Laverne Walker, Bernice Pluger and Lorraine Veenstra. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, June 19, 2014 at The Lee Chapel 6291 S. Harvey Street 231 798-1100
with Pastor John H. Brown officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be 6-8 PM Wednesday and one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Harbor Hospice.
