Mrs. Belle Routt's Obituary
Mrs. Belle Routt, 91, passed away early Friday morning, April 1, 2016 in Muskegon. She was born March 31, 1925 to Jacob and Blanche (Kowalski) Bodus in Cedar, MI and moved to the Muskegon area in 1943. Belle had worked at Muskegon Piston Ring and volunteered for the Red Cross for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and the Altar Society of the Church. On May 29, 1954 she married Charles H. “Chuck” Routt, and he preceded her in death on January 1, 2007. Survivors include her son Roger Routt of Muskegon; 5 brothers and sisters, Leonard (Ruth Ann) Bodus of St. Louis, Missouri, Theresa Petrowski of Cedar, MI, Anthony Bodus of Cedar, MI, Ted Bodus of Traverse City, MI, Margaret Mundrick of Utica, MI; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by brothers Harry Bodus, Xavier Bodus, and Lawrence Bodus and sisters Florence April, Esther Bodus, Irene Fabiszak, Josephine Hosack, Mary Ksiezarczyk, and Sophia Zywicki. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, April 4, at 11:00 AM at St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Norman Droski presiding. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565 will be from 3:00 -5:00 PM Sunday, with the Rosary prayed at 5:00 PM, and 1 hour prior to the mass at church on Monday.
