Benjamin Olaf Anderson's Obituary
Mr. Benjamin O. Anderson, age 90, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2020 peacefully at his home. He was born on October 1, 1929 in Leelanau, MI to Martin Anderson and Violet Anderson Korf. He joined the U.S. Air Force, serving with the Occupational Forces in Japan and was a member of the unit assigned to set up Kimpo AFB in Seoul prior to the Korean War and World War 2. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 34 years, Patricia A. (Majeski) Anderson, who preceded him in death in 1991. Ben owned and operated Anderson Body Shop in downtown Muskegon, MI (later moving to North Muskegon), for 40 years. He was an avid golfer and bowler for over 75 years. In 2011, at the age of 81, Ben rolled a career series at Sherman Bowling Center in the P.R.C.U. League, finishing with an incredible 735. The big series topped his previous high series of 713, which he rolled nearly 30 years prior. He is survived by his son, Wade (Diane) Anderson of North Muskegon, MI; grandchildren, Kelsey (Carsten) De Vries of Muskegon, MI, Jason (Katie) Bryant of North Muskegon, MI; great-granddaughters, Eleanor Bryant and Rosie De Vries; sisters, Donna (Douglas) Vincent and Betty (Allan) Fay. He was preceded in death by his parents. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no service or visitation at this time. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
