Benjamin Eugene Gustafson's Obituary
Benjamin E. Gustafson, age 71, passed away on December 27, 2024, at home. He was born on March 20, 1953, to Benjamin and Leona (Wawsczyk) Gustafson in Fremont, MI. Ben was a long-time member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, where he served in many capacities, including preparing funeral lunches, fish fries, church breakfasts, and food trucks. He also volunteered as a co-chair for the Cars for Cancer Breakfast and was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus #13035. He worked for 25 years at Lomac Chemical in Muskegon. In his free time, Ben enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycle rides, classic cars, and tractors. His love for his dogs, Piper and Cramer, was endless. On July 21, 1972, he married Pamela Town, who survives him, along with their two daughters, Gretchen Gustafson and Jennifer (Isaac) Gustafson-Stephenson, and honorary daughter, Cassie Conzemius; brother, Kim (Charlotte) Gustafson; sisters, Carol (Mark) Graves and Cindi (George) Hopman, brothers-in-law: Lenny (Annette) Town and John (Nancy) Town; sisters-in-law: Cindy (Randy) Borreson and Jolyn (Gordon) Johnston, along with many nieces and nephews. Ben was preceded in death by his parents, brother Edward Gustafson, his nephew Ty Gustafson and brother-in-law: Ray Tokarczyk. VISITATION will be 2:00 PM, Friday, January 3, 2025, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 3252 Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI. 49442 with a MASS of CHRISTIAN BURIAL following at 3:00 PM with Rev. Fr. Douglas Braun presiding. Memorials can be directed to the Knights of Columbus or Kids Food Basket in Ben’s name.
