Mrs. Bernadette Loretta Wisneski's Obituary
Mrs. Bernadette Loretta Wisneski, age 91, passed away Wednesday evening, May 23, 2012 at her home in Muskegon. She was born on September 7, 1920 to Leo Joseph and Mary Elizabeth (Hertoughs) Kokx. Bernadette was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church where she was involved with the local nursing home ministry and was a Eucharistic Minister. She was also a member of the VFW#8846 Women’s Auxiliary. Bernadette enjoyed gardening, bird watching, crocheting, sewing, and she made an excellent apple pie. On October 31, 1943, Bernadette married Andrew Wisneski, Jr. and he preceded her in death on October 23, 1990. She is survived by her children, Lynda (Tim) Boertman, John (Suzanne) Wisneski; Leon Wisneski; Donna (Thomas) Hackey, Sharon (Bernard) Near, Charlene Wisneski, and Mary; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Agnes Kokx. In addition to her husband, Bernadette was preceded in death by 1 son, Joseph Wisneski, 2 grandsons, Harold “Butch” Martin III and Scott Meyer; her parents; 2 sisters and 1 brother. A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Michael Olson presiding VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to Mass. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. For a more lasting memorial, please consider Our Lady of Grace Parish or Harbor Hospice.
