Bernadine "Bernie" Woods' Obituary
Mrs. Bernadine “Bernie” M. Woods, age 82, died Saturday, March 11, 2006 in Muskegon. She was born on November 15, 1923 in Ithaca, MI to Earl and Ethel (Struble) Emery, and had resided in the area since she was 8 years old. Mrs. Woods had worked at Russ’ Restaurant for 10 years and at the Muskegon Rescue Mission for 15 years until retiring in 2000. She enjoyed being outdoors and crocheting, and especially loved spending time with her family. On September 2, 1943 she married Paul E. Woods in Paducah, KY and he preceded her in death on June 14, 1989. SURVIVORS include 2 children, Patricia (Gerry) Nash of Montague, Robert (Merri) Woods of Muskegon; 5 grandchildren, Barbara (Tim) Miller, and Jeffrey (Jackie Lauterberg) Nash both on Montague, Christopher (Lorissa Nyson) Woods, David (Jenna Moore) Woods, Kelli Woods; 1 great granddaughter, Alexis Woods; brother, Edward Earl Emery of Ravenna; sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Irene Johnson of Fruitport; brother-in-law, Arlie Woods of Warren, MI; and several nieces and nephews. GRAVESIDE SERVICES with the family will be 11 AM Wednesday at Ravenna Twp. Cemetery. Memorial Contributions to the grandchildren would be appreciated.
