Bernard “Bernie†Jay Evans age 85, of Ravenna died Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at home.
Bernard was born on May 23, 1930 in Norton Shores, MI. to the late Jay and Viola (Landon) Evans. He married Wilma J. (Davey) Evans on August 11, 1957 in Bailey, MI.
Bernard is survived by his wife of 58 years: Wilma J. Evans of Ravenna, 5 Sons: Kenneth (Donna) Knoll of Florida, Larry (Peggy) Evans of Muskegon, Bernie (Deb) Evans of Grand Rapids, Ed and Ted Evans both of Ravenna. 1 Daughter: Starr (Randolph) Rico of Ravenna. 20 Grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. 5 Brothers: Donald (Barbara) Evans Oregon, John Evans of Casnovia, Bill Evans of Alaska, Jim Evans and Gene (Pat) Evans both of Ravenna. 2 Sister: Wanda (Lynn) Wood of Muskegon and JoAnn (Vernon) Ransom of Ravenna. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by parents, Son: Gary Evans, Brother: Darryl Evans and Sister: Corinne Kroening
Funeral services for Bernard J. Evans will be conducted on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 12:00pm at the Throop Funeral Home of Ravenna. Burial will be at Moorland Township. The family will be at the funeral home from 10:00am until time of service to greet friends.
