Bernard G. Jeske's Obituary
Bernard G. Jeske, age 94, of Ellenton, Florida passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at his home. Bernard was born on October 2, 1926, in Grand Haven, Michigan to August H. and Frances B. (Peters) Jeske. Bernard married the former Margaret E. Studer on August 30, 1952 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Bernard had been self-employed and chief executive officer of his businesses, Jeske Manufacturing, Berlynn Equipment and Bush Machine. As a Lieutenant in the United States Army, Bernard served his country during WWII commanding a tank battalion. Bernard was a graduate of the University of Michigan with engineering degrees in Chemistry and Metallurgy.
He enjoyed his three children, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Bernard was preceded in death by his mother and father, wife Margaret, son Lynn V. Jeske, Lynn's wife Barbara (Sutton) Jeske; brother Donald (Sadie) Jeske, brother Raymond Jeske and Raymond’s wife Ruth. Surviving is his daughter, Kathryn A. Jeske of Jacksonville, Florida; son Christopher J. (Joanne) Jeske of Binghamton, New York; four grandchildren: Beverly (Alex) Livingston, Lisa (David) Stewart, Michael (fiancée Michelle) Jeske and Zachary Jeske; three great-grandchildren: Kaleb, Dylan and Layla. He is also survived by sister-in-law Sadie Jeske and several nieces and nephews.
The service to celebrate Bernard's life will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at The VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 620 Washington Ave, Grand Haven, MI 49417. Interment will be in Lake Forest Cemetery in Grand Haven, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bernard’s honor to Tidewell Hospice at www.tidewell.org.
