Mr. Bernard J. Sobish's Obituary
Bernard J. “Bernie” “Slick” Sobish, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017. He was born on March 28, 1931 to Barney and Cecelia (Poliski) Sobish in Musekgon. Bernie proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. On May 29, 1954 he married the love of his life, the former Jacqueline Vanderlinden, and they spent 62 years together. Bernie was an avid fisherman, hunter and camper. He loved going to the casinos and playing cribbage, though his greatest love of all was his family. Bernard is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Sobish; children, Lynn (Pat) Coyle, Greg Sobish, Patti (Mike) Brufladt; grandchildren, Autumn (Kevin) Greer, Jeremiah (Sarah) Coyle, Michael Brufladt, Jodi (Brandon) Kittle, Tiffany Brufladt, Traci Sobish; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Sobish; brothers, Bob and Jack; and sisters, Jane, Grace and Evelyn. A FUNERAL SERVICE for Bernard will take place on Friday, January 13, 2017 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231-798-1100) at 11:00 AM, with visitation with the family taking place an hour prior to services. Burial will take place in Norton Cemetery.
