Bernard O. Wickstrom's Obituary
Mr. Bernard “Bernie” Orville Wickstrom, age 77, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018 in Muskegon. He was born in Muskegon on April 9, 1941 to Orville and Gertrude (Baker) Wickstrom. Bernie was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served as a Communication Center Specialist for eight years. After serving in the Air Force, Bernie worked for GTE for 27 years prior to his retirement in 1993. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and the Don Rea VFW Post #8846 where he served as Chaplain. Bernie was an avid Detroit Lions and Red Wings fan. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and trivia. He is survived by his wife, Karen; two children, Deb (Dale) Roest and Mike (Jeff Hartman) Wickstrom; brother, Thomas (Linda) Wickstrom; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alan Kaub, Suzette Kaub, Diane (Mike Procurnier) Kaub, Brian (Debbie) Kaub, and Lori (Keith) Miller; many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends; and his faithful dog, Baxter. He was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Richard and Luella Kaub; sister-in-law, Barbara Kaub; and nephew, John Kaub. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Deacon Alexander Koppel officiating. VISITATION will be from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100. Burial will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery.
