Bernell "Sully" Sullivan's Obituary
Mr. Bernell T. “Sully” Sullivan, age 89, passed away Friday evening, March 27, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Sully was born February 5, 1920 to James and Mary (Hamel) Sullivan in Muskegon, and was a life resident. He was a proud WWII U. S. Army veteran. Sully worked for the City of Muskegon for 33 years, retiring as superintendant of the city cemeteries. He founded and operated the Sleep Warm Company for over 50 years, and served as the secretary for the Michigan Meat Association for over 35 years. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. On September 6, 1947, Sully married June F. LeMieux, and she preceded him in death on January 26, 2006. SURVIVORS include 7 children, Anne (John) Bauer of Charleston, SC, Mary (James) McKenzie of Grand Rapids, Michael (Maureen) Sullivan of Ada, Patrick (Mary Martens) Sullivan of Kalamazoo, Jean (Michael Brown) Sullivan of Muskegon, Donald (Rhonda Bauer) Sullivan of Muskegon, Robert (Paula) Sullivan of Spring Lake; 25 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters. His happiest times were with his family and many dear friends on the golf course, at the Lithuanian Club, Wednesday night bowling league, but in particular at his cottage on the shores of Big Star Lake. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will take place at St. Marys Cemetery. VISITATION at
