Bernice Lesar's Obituary
Bernice Lesar, age 83, of Grand Haven, passed away Monday, July 20, 2009 at a local hospital. Bernice was born July 18, 1926 in Milwaukee, WI, to Thomas and Anna (Niemiec) Fischer and married Edward Lesar on November 22, 1947 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Grand Haven.
A life-long resident, Bernice was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and loved traveling to the Sleeping Bear Dunes, enjoyed playing cards, dancing, and being with her family.
Bernice is lovingly remembered by her husband Edward; two sons, Michael (Susan) Lesar of Springfield, Virginia and Douglas (Marilyn Mann) Lesar of Kensington, Maryland; three grandchildren: Erin Lesar, Kristin (Eric) McGuire, and Monica Lesar. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert Fischer.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Bernice will be held Friday, July 24, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. from St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Rev. William Langlois as celebrant. Friends may meet the family Thursday, July 23, from 7-9 p.m. with a Scripture service at 7:30 p.m. at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven.
